Description | The job of Education Assistant - Crossing Guard is done for the purpose of improving students' success in the basic academics; relieving teachers of clerical tasks; monitoring students in a variety of settings; and performing crossing guard duties before and after school.
Essential Functions:
Administers tests
- Implements instructional programs and lesson plans, (e.g. reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer, etc.)
- Instructs students (individual or small groups), (e.g. reading, math, spelling, self esteem, behavioral skills, daily living skills, etc.)
- Maintains classroom equipment, work area students files/records, (e.g. clean up after various class projects, entering grades, adapting instructional materials, audiovisual equipment, etc.)
- Monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments, (e.g. classrooms rest rooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, etc.)
- Participates in in-service workshops and training
- Performs duties of Crossing Guard as assigned
- Performs record keeping and clerical functions, (e.g. scheduling, copying, instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling lists, etc.)
- Picks up and or delivers homework/assignments to students at home
- Responds to emergency situations, (e.g. injured student, fights, etc.)
- Assists other personnel as may be required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pre-employment proficiency test
- Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance
Full Time with Benefits, School Year Schedule, Experience desired.
This is a 10 month School Year position only. |
