Description | The job of Attendance Assistant is done for the purpose of ensuring accurate attendance accounting within the district
resolving attendance related issues ensuring compliance with state reporting and documenting requirements conveying attendance related informaton to appropriate parties
- Providing general clerical support, information and/or direction as may be assigned at assigned school site.
- Attends in-service trainings, staff meetings, workshops, etc. as requested
- communicates with a wide variety of individuals, (e.g. students, teachers, parents, staff, county administration, government agencies, other districts, etc.)
- Directs student workers ensures accuracy of attendance records, (e.g. verification of forgeries, truancies, etc.)
- Maintains documents, files and records (manual and computer)
- Maintains student cumulative folders, (e.g. birth certificates, transfers, immunization, etc.)
- Prepares a variety of written materials, (e.g. attendance reports, field trip lists, detention lists, counseling groups, passes, memos, letters, etc.)
- Processes documents and materials; procures homework assignments from teacher for absent students; provides in-service training to school site staff; receives payments from students, (e.g. fees, fines, lunch monies, etc.)
- Researches discrepancies of attendance information and/or documentation, (e.g. absence notes, passes, etc.)
- Responds to inquiries of parents, staff, students, public agency representatives.
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; Pre-employment Proficiency test; Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance; Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English. |
