The job of Early Education Assistant is done for the purpose/s of assisting in providing quality care of children in the District's Early Childhood programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in arranging the environment
- Assists in providing an atmosphere where children are safe, and feel nurtured and valued
- Assists the Early Childhood Extension Program - Lead in carrying out various duties, e.g., preparing snacks, cleaning, monitoring supplies and maintenance of the facility
- Assists with the supervision of children and implementation of activities
- Attends all required staff meetings and must obtain a minimum of 18 hours of job-related training each year with verification of attendance to be placed in personnel files
- Communicates positively and effectively with parents and always acknowledges and greets parents/visitors/children when they arrive and depart
- Documents communications, phone messages, written correspondence, parental requests and concerns
- Follows the Casa Grande Elementary School District Governing Board Policies and Procedures, Community Services Staff handbook, and the rules and regulations of the Department of Health Services and accreditation agency
- Maintains a work atmosphere that generates trust, collaboration and caring;maintains Accountability of children, making sure they are signed in and out daily by an authorized person
- Maintains on-going communication with the Site Director and other staff
- Participates in children's activites
- Participates in planning and implementing age appropriate programs with the lead staff
- Responsible for reading the Staff Notebook and signing in and out daily
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent
Requirements:
- Pre-employment proficiency test
- Criminal Justice/fingerprint clearance
- Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English
This is a 10 month School Year position only.
