The job of Cafe Site Manager is done for the purpose of directing a child nutrition services operation and related activities at an assigned school site under the direction of the Nutrition Supervisor; providing and serving high quality, nutritional meals that meet the mandated nutritional standard of the National School Lunch, Breakfast and After School Snack programs; and providing oversight of assigned personnel.
Essential Functions:
- Attends meetings, (e.g. in-service training, etc.)
- Collects payments and prepayments. Communicates with administrators, staff, parents, and others
- Confers with the Nutrition Supervisor regarding child nutrition services needs, condition and menu changes
- Inputs information in the data system, (e.g. student status, etc.)
- Inspects food items and/or supplies
- Inventories food and supplies
- Manages Nutrition Services operations at an assigned school site
- Opens Nutrition Services facililties, (e.g. opening gates, doors, turning on equipment, lights, alarms, etc.)
- Oversees and trains assigned personnel under direction from the Director of Nutrition Services, (e.g. providing input on transfers, termination/disciplinary actions, goals, evaluations, etc.)
- Participates in various activities, (e.g. estimate/requisition food quantities, marketing activities, BBQ's, picnics, equipment and supplies, receives, inspects, verifies deliveries, etc.)
- Performs functions as required of another position within area of responsibility, (e.g. serving/storage of food, cook meals, bake goods, check proper temperatures, cashiering, etc.)
- Prepares documentation, (e.g. inventory, requisitions, daily reports, menu production, etc.)
- Assists other personnel as may be required
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Criminal justice/fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English
Experience required.
This is a 10 month School Year position only.
